A short video about Srila Prabupada’s early days at Matchless Gifts. My apologies in advance for the video is not that long and kind of leave you hangin 🙂
“In May of 1966, Srila Prabhupada, with the help of just two followers, rented a storefront in New York’s Lower East Side – here at 26 Second Avenue. The storefront was previously a curio shop with the name, “Matchless Gifts.” Early visitors to Srila Prabhupada’s new center were struck by the prophetic name.”

its was interesting to see you fellows so much imersed in
krishna devotion….as I am from India and born and brought up in a culture where I used to hear about krishna and rama all throughtout my child hood…I am sometime really amazed how does it feel when someone who is basically from a different faith.and converts or endorses a new faith, does they feel completly at home…I mean for example are you guys able to connect with the sentiments of vaishnavaism….I am not questioning your sincerity…..I only find it difficult to assimilate with a different culture…because you cant really separate religion from its geography and its original culture of the place from where it actually spread……I dont know..they are my personal thoughts..and I respect all of you….keep up your good work….
